The limitations of free speech

The exhibition The Limitations of Free Speech is all about the importance of listening to others but also how difficult this can be at times.  With historical examples, various dilemmas and Virtual Reality experiences, we challenge our visitors to reflect and discuss with each other.

Democracy is built on the freedom to speak, have open discussions and our capacity to listen, even if we do not like what we hear. When we are free to say what we want, it can easily be taken for granted. However, freedom of speech is not written in stone. What would happen if these conversations stopped happening?

The aim of the exhibition is to encourage a dialogue among visitors on the limitations of free speech. The questions are far from simple and there are often conflicting opinions. But this is precisely the basis for a democratic discussion.

The exhibition is produced by The Forum for Living History.
