Canadian Marc-André Hamelin’s last three performances at the festival have been characterised by sublime piano playing and complete harmonic control. This year, he will surprise and delight the audience with a program that includes Charles Trenet’s song Boum! as part of his piano arrangement.
Hamelin has been nominated eleven times for a Grammy; most recently for a recording of Stravinsky’s Right of Spring.
